  • Homeopathy is based on the principle that substances that can cause disorders of the mind or body in a healthy person, can be used in dilute form as medicines to treat similar disorders in someone who is ill.

As an example of this principle ‘like cures like’, let’s use the remedy Allium cepa, derived from onions. Contact with raw onions causes the eyes and nose to become watery and sore. Allium cepa can therefore be prescribed to people with hay fever with similar symptoms.

Since homeopathy was founded over 200 years ago, homeopathic remedies have been discovered using this principle, by administering them to healthy individuals and recording the symptoms produced. During consultations, homeopath’s gather detailed information to match the patient's symptoms with a remedy that produces similar symptoms in a healthy person.

Remedies act as a catalyst to trigger and strengthen the body’s innate healing mechanism, helping it to function more efficiently and enable healing.

  • Homeopathic remedies are derived from natural substances such as plants or minerals.

The substance undergoes a specialised process involving a series of precise dilutions. This method ensures substances that would be toxic in their crude form, are completely safe and non-toxic in their homeopathic form.

Remedies are prepared under strictly controlled conditions by specialist licensed pharmacies.

Homeopathy is eco-friendly and sustainable due to the low-impact manufacturing process of remedies.

  • No - I love helping all kinds of people with any health issue.

As homeopathic treatment focuses on the whole person, rather than a symptom in isolation, it has a huge scope of potential in healing a vast range of health problems.

In my practice I have experience helping people with issues such as:

worries and anxiety, low confidence, hyperactivity, behavioural difficulties, OCD, digestive issues, coughs and catarrh, recurring ear, nose and throat infections, mood and emotional imbalance, skin issues - eczema, psoriasis, warts, acne, hormonal health and transitions – puberty/menopause, asthma, allergies, infertility and autoimmune disorders.

  • The duration of treatment varies from person to person and can depend on the complexity of your health issue, how long you’ve had it and your overall level of health and vitality.

For recent (acute) conditions, a remedy can work like magic within minutes or hours.

For long-standing (chronic) issues, treatment is a gradual process, with each prescription building upon the last, allowing healing to happen progressively over time. You could see an improvement within the first weeks of taking a remedy, or it can take months to impact the symptoms to a greater degree.

Patience and regular follow-up appointments are crucial in achieving the desired outcomes.

  • In the UK, there are regulatory bodies that set standards for the practice and practitioners of homeopathy. These are for homeopaths having undergone examinations and have requirements around competence and professional development.

I am registered and insured with The Society of Homeopaths, which is the largest organisation representing professional homeopaths in the UK and maintains a register of homeopaths who adhere to their Code of Ethics and Practice.
